Children’s Space

Next to the Festival Cafe there is a cosy corner with lots of fun activities for children.

Nearby there will be 4 interactive themed Christmas trees including an “Advent Calendar Tree” a “Noah’s Ark Tree”and the “Mustard Seed Tree” with lots of singing birds.  This year’s festival falls around St Nicholas day so we have called the fourth children’s interactive tree “St Nicholas Fair” It is full of tiny toys, traditionally given to children at this time in Europe.  All the children’s “trees” are designed for children to explore and play.  Plenty of other play materials are available for your little ones to feel busy and happy while you enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in peace.

There will be free craft activities for children. You are welcome to dress  a wooden Father Christmas or make a Christmas decoration to take home.  There are also plenty of colouring and activity sheets with pens, glue and glitter galore!

A volunteer will be on hand to help, however children remain the responsibility of parents at all times

Nativity Treasure Hunt

Take a quIMG_6118est sheet at the door and as you admire the trees, look out for our themed decorations, each depicting a character or item from the Nativity. They might be on a tree, tucked in a corner, on a pew, in the pulpit, – who knows!

If you can complete the Treasure Hunt, go to the Children’s Space, show your completed sheet to a member of the festival staff and receive a Christmas treat!
